Delete your account
You can delete your Regatista account at any time and request the deletion of your personal data. Here's how to do it and what information is removed or retained.
How to delete your account
From the mobile app (iOS / Android):
- Open Regatista and sign in.
- Go to My account (tap your profile).
- Scroll down to Delete account.
- Confirm by typing "Delete my account".
From the web (regatista.com):
- Sign in and open My account.
- Open the Delete account section.
- Confirm by typing "Delete my account".
If you can't access your account, email us at privacidad@regatista.com from the address linked to your account and we'll delete it for you.
What data is deleted
When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed or anonymized:
- Your profile: name, email, phone, photo, club, nationality, preferred class and bio.
- Your emergency contact.
- Your saved payment methods (cards are removed from our systems and from the payment processor).
- Your sessions (you are signed out on all devices) and your notification tokens.
- Your presence in other users' favorite crew lists.
- Your in-progress registrations (unpaid) are cancelled.
Your account can no longer sign in immediately.
What data is retained (and why)
Due to legal obligations or the integrity of the sporting record, the following is retained:
- Payment records and tax receipts: retained for 5 years, as required by the Mexican Federal Tax Code (Código Fiscal de la Federación).
- Proof of acceptance of the Terms and Privacy Notice (version, date and IP): as legal evidence of your consent.
- Already-published race results: they are part of the event's public sporting record and are kept under the name you competed with.
Timeframe
Deletion is immediate. Records that must be retained by law are blocked and deleted once the applicable period ends.
